Add Okay Logan Search Engine to Chrome/Edge

Okay Logan can be added as a search engine in Chrome and Edge for quick access.

Step 1: Enable Tab Search

  1. Go to chrome://settings/searchEngines
  2. Scroll down to "Inactive Shortcuts" section
  3. Find "Okay Logan" in the list
  4. Click the "Activate" button next to it
  5. Now you can search by typing ok followed by Tab in the address bar

Step 2: Make Default Search (Optional)

  1. Scroll back up to "Site Search" section
  2. Find "Okay Logan" under "Additional Sites"
  3. Click the "More Actions" (⋮) menu next to Okay Logan
  4. Select "Make default"
  5. Now Okay Logan will be your default search engine

Search Commands

Search works just like a browser - enter any URL or search query to browse the web.

  • Enter URLs (with or without https://) to browse directly like a browser
  • Use natural language to search

Voice Commands

Use the Start Assistant button to enable voice commands and hands free navigation.

Any pill-shaped button can be spoken, regardless of color.

When the Assistant is active, voice input is transcribed to the currently focused field.

If your cursor is in any active input field, transcription goes there. Otherwise, it defaults to the search box.

Use specific commands or just speak naturally to search or type.

Basic Commands

  • "search" - Execute search
  • "read summary" - Read current search summary
  • "save search" - Save current search
  • "clear search" - Clear search box
  • "stop assistant" - Turn off voice recognition

Navigation

  • "scroll down/up" - Auto-scroll content
  • "scroll top/bottom" - Jump to top/bottom
  • "stop scrolling" - Stop auto-scroll
  • "faster/slower" - Adjust scroll speed

Preview Commands

  • "next/back" - Navigate previews
  • "read preview" - Read current preview
  • "save" - Save the current link
  • "close preview" - Close the preview modal
  • Say any link/button text - Automatically clicks matching clickable elements in the preview

Transcription Helpers

  • "period" - Insert period (.)
  • "comma" - Insert comma (,)
  • "question mark" - Insert question mark (?)
  • "quote" - Insert quotation mark (")
  • "dash" - Insert dash (-)
  • "space" - Insert space
  • "enter" - Press Enter key
  • "delete" - Delete last word

Smart Content Filtering

Preview doesn't work with all websites - and that's actually a good thing. Websites that fail to load in preview mode are typically bloated with excessive JavaScript, ads, trackers, and other unnecessary content that slows down your browsing and compromises your privacy.

If a website doesn't preview properly, it's a signal that the site prioritizes advertising revenue and data collection over user experience. Consider whether you really want to visit these sites - there are usually better, more privacy-respecting alternatives available.

Sandbox browsing ensures you can safely preview any website without compromising your privacy or security.

Voice Settings

Note: Voice settings are saved automatically and will be used for all text-to-speech functionality in Okay Logan. The speech recognition language will also match your selected voice for a unified voice experience.

Sound Settings

Note: Controls the volume of progress and notification sounds throughout Okay Logan. Set to 0 to mute all sounds.

Device Sync

Start syncing to generate a code, or join an existing sync by entering a code. Share your sync code with other devices to keep them in sync.
